Ignoble – a poem

Far from expected

But exuding charm

Impossible to resist

Even harder to tame

Two titans locked in battle

Neither willing to succumb

Known roles abandoned

Respect mired by desire

The horizon darkened

The battle was skewed

One surmounting the other

But through ignoble deeds

Clouds now loomed

Their shadows remained cast

And with the battle done, one thing rang true

The nature of the win speaks volumes of the victor
